18.05.2024

Camping holidays between glacier, mountain, and lake: at campsites that impress with state-of-the-art infrastructure and even more beautiful views, with plenty of peace and quiet and nature experiences. In Zell am See-Kaprun, three campsites close to nature invite you to take a relaxing break. We have taken a closer look at the campsites - including the brand new Seecamp in Zell am See - for you.

First things first: whether you are travelling with a caravan, camper or a tent or prefer enjoying the unique camping flair in a well-equipped camping hut, the campsites in Zell am See-Kaprun offer all amenities. This season, one campsite in particular stands out: the newly established Seecamp on the northern shore of Lake Zell.

All new: the Seecamp in Zell am See

The new Seecamp opened at the end of May 2024, and guests can look forward to all kinds of real gems - from the main building with reception, shop and restaurant to state-of-the-art sanitary and service facilities, everything has been completely modernised. There is also a new outbuilding with a kitchen and a cosy barbecue & chill area. You can reach the centre of Zell am See from the Seecamp within 15 minutes.

The Seecamp offers a total of 130 pitches and 30 tent pitches. Starting with a minimum size of 80m², the pitches come with an electricity connection and free WLAN. The pitches in the "Luxury" category also offer a water and waste water connection. And if you like it so much at Seecamp that you even want to come in winter: 70 pitches also have a gas connection so that you can camp in winter!

Loyal and new camping guests as well as the locals are looking forward to the reopening of the Seecamp: after all, the restaurant of the same name will open its doors again at the same time as the camping site from 1 July 2024. The new building offers a cosy, modern favourite place where the focus is on culinary delights and socialising. Pinzgau restaurateur Rudi Eder is responsible for the à la carte restaurant. Together with his team, he will be serving Austrian cuisine with a modern twist. The Seecamp restaurant also provides plenty of space for seminars, incentive events, and all kinds of celebrations

The name says it all: Welcome to the Panorama campsite!

The second campsite in the region is also very close to Lake Zell: at the Panorama campsite in the nature reserve and just 500 metres from the southern shore of Lake Zell, you can spend a relaxing holiday close to nature. Enjoy the view of the Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn from your camper, caravan, or tent, cool down in the clear waters of Lake Zell or go swimming at the nearby, free Erlberg lido and set off on big mountain adventures from the campsite - all of this is on the agenda here.

The Panorama campsite boasts a total area of 10,000m² with 65 well-kept grass pitches and camping pitches (from 70 to 100m²). Electricity, water connections, WLAN, cables, and barbecue areas are of course available. For an extra bit of comfort, the campsite also offers a shop and kiosk, modern sanitary facilities, a dishwashing room with washing machines and dryers, a recreational room, a ski and boot drying room as well as a children's playground and a play area, free go-karting, and table tennis.

Camping zur Mühle invites to a break in Kaprun

Kaprun is home to the third favourite spot for your camping holiday: at Camping zur Mühle, you can choose your own spacious pitch with shade-providing trees for your time out. Especially handy: the campsite belongs to the inn of the same name, where you can pick up fresh bread rolls for breakfast every day from 7am or even use the breakfast buffet. The à la carte restaurant is also open for camping guests in the evening.

This campsite is the ideal starting point for your hiking or biking holiday: buses run directly from the campsite to the nearby Kitzsteinhorn glacier, the impressive Kaprun reservoirs or to Zell am See. The campsite itself is situated in a very quiet location, about a kilometre's walk from the centre of Kaprun. In addition to well-kept sanitary facilities, Camping zur Mühle also offers a dishwashing sink, washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a drying room for shoes and clothes. Electricity connections are available on almost all pitches, and WLAN is free of charge. Children have fun in the open-air adventure pool with children's pool, in the playground or when competing in a table tennis match.
