Ascent on the edge of the slopes and through the wood of Kaprun's local mountain
A safe alternative right at the edge of the piste.Depending on your stamina and what you are in the mood for, you have the option to end your tour at various points, then safely ski down the piste back to the valley.

Starting point is at the parking place MK Maiskogelbahn (near Kaprun center).
The newly marked track for touring skiers ends at the mountain station of Almbahn mountain terminal, elev. 1,733 m
Recommended equipment
Ski tourers are allowed to use the pistes of the Maiskogel between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m, on Wednesdays until 8 p.m.
Ski tourers do so at their own risk and must obey the piste rules shown below.
